During the last DIGI world
meeting in Shanghai, Mr. S A
Chandran, Chairman – Emeritus of
Essae-Teraoka Limited was
formally inducted into the DIGI
Hall of Fame by Mr. Kazuharu
Teraoka, President and CEO of
Teraoka / DIGI group in Japan.
DIGI Hall of Fame is a
prestigious and unique
recognition given for very
selected and long time global
partners of Teraoka/DIGI and Mr.
S A Chandran is the first Asian
to receive this recognition.
Essae-Teraoka has a technical
and financial joint venture with
Teraoka Seiko of Japan with both
technology and equity

establishment in 1986,
Essae-Teraoka has made rapid
progress and is the market

weighing industry. Mr. S A

installs more than 900 Units of Check out scales

Reliance Industries recently
installed more than 900 units
of DS-series check out scales for
its Reliance Fresh outlets. Essae-Teraoka was selected
amongst stiff competition
against multi national companies
due to its unique low-profile
design which easily fits into
the check out component.

Apart from this, DS-series check
out scale supports popular OPOS
protocols, which makes it easy
to connect to all popular POS
systems. Other critical factors
which weighed in Essae’s favor,
was its large sales/service
network of 61 branches and 200
dealers, which is very important

Department of Posts
(DoP) selects Essae

Essae received large order for
more than 5,000 units of
DS-series of Electronic weighing
scales from the Department of
Posts. The DS-series of scales
were successfully interfaced
with DoP’s back-end software,
which is an essential
requirement in the on-going
modernization process of the

post offices all around the
country. Essae-Teraoka was
successfully short listed as the qualified
vendor as per the DGS
& D rate contract policies. The
DS-series also have BIS
certification which enables it
to use the ISI mark on the
scales. Essae was preferred over
the other vendors due to its
superior product Quality, VFD
display and strong sales/service
network of 61 branches and 200

ICICI bank selects
PG-1000 for its gold loan and gold coin scheme

ICICI bank, the largest
private sector bank in the
country recently installed more
than 265 units of PG-1000
Electronic weighing balances in
its banks. This is a part of the
bank’s initiative of gold loan
and gold coin scheme. PG-1000
was selected because of its
unique MFRT technology, superior |

display. Strong network of 61

point since these banks are distributed in
